On March 3rd, in collaboration with Idun (the biology study association), there will be a panel discussion on the benefits and the dangers of Nuclear Energy. This will be led by our very own Dr. Catherine Rigollet from the University of Groningen who teaches Nuclear Energy to Physics students. Other confirmed panelists include: Laban Coblentz, Mark Nelson and Shuzo Sasak. Keep an eye on our Instagram page and Facebook page for updates on all the speakers!

Catherine Rigollet obtained her PhD in nuclear physics at the University of Strasbourg, France. She then spent 3 years in South Africa as a postdoc at iThemba LABS. She has been working in nuclear physics in the University of Groningen since 2000.

Laban Coblentz is the Head of Communication at ITER, the world’s largest multinational science and technology project, a collaboration of 35 countries to demonstrate industrial-scale fusion energy.

Shuzo Sasak was the Director of the Energy Division in Fukushima prefecture from 2012-2017 (after the disaster) and has been deeply involved in the reconstruction of the area affected by the natural disaster.

Jan van Capelle is a Nuclear Safety Advisor at EPZ, owner and operator of the only operating power plant in the Netherlands.
