Come join us at the Forum for the movie "Nausicaä of the valley of the wind" from studio Ghibli, which will be completely free of charge if you have signed up to become an Atmos member!

Before the movie starts there will be a short introduction by Prof. Dr. Björn Hoops! In this talk, Prof. Björn Hoops explores the pressing question of how law, ecology, and human responsibility are intertwined. Questions explored include; What does it mean to give nature legal rights? Could a river, forest, or even the sea become a legal person—just like a company or a foundation? And what does that say about how we relate to the world around us? Using Dutch examples, he shows how our legal systems are struggling (and sometimes fumbling) to keep up with a changing planet. In the accompanying film, it’s no longer taken for granted that humans are in charge—the toxic jungle and oversized insects make sure of that.
