EnerTea

After the success of the our first EnerTea, next Tuesday Student Energy presents its second edition! 🎉

In this occasion, with us will be Prof. Catherine Rigollet , who will discuss the motivations behind the development of Small Modular Reactors.

Small modular nuclear reactors are proposed as a safe and less costly option over the current large nuclear power plants and have the potential to be deployed within the next 10 to 15 years. Today, more than 50 concepts exist, ranging from minor evolutions of operational reactors to exotic liquid-fuelled and fission-fusion hybrid designs. This talk will present the motivations behind the development of SMRs and the characteristics that make them different from large reactors. We’ll then focus on the assessment of environmental impacts, as well as the amount of waste generated.

Join us in the afternoon between classes and enjoy FREE TEA, COFFEE and SNACKS!
