The Atmos board is happy to invite you all to join the very first Atmos Company Career Day on May 26! On this day, the focus is on life after graduation of the EES master, or other energy- or environment-related programs, and several companies which are interesting potential employers for these students will present themselves. They will give plenary presentations about their application procedures, what they look for in candidates and what some tasks of starters would be within their company. On top of that, it will be possible for you to have one-on-one sessions with their recruiters, in the form of speed dates or mock job interviews to gain some more information about the company and see whether it would be a match for you.

We are happy to inform you that TenneT, Shell, Avebe and Witteveen+Bos have confirmed their participation to this event. Besides the plenary presentations that they will give, there will be recruiters, EES alumni and people from HR present, with whom you can have one-on-one talks to ask all your buring questions about this company or have a mock job interview. Furthermore, we have arranged for Brunel to join this career day to give a talk about their work as secondment agency and perform CV checks to all students who are interested! Time, date and platform

The Atmos Company Career Day will take place on May 26, from 14.45 till 18.00. Due to the situation regarding corona, it will take place online. For this, we will use the gather.town platform, which is an easy-to-use digital world in which you are a character that can move around. It allows you to strike up a conversation with your fellow students or with the company representatives, to join the plenary session for the presentations, and to have private one-on-one meetings with a company representative. More info on the platform will be given here before the event.

Enrollment

The Atmos Company Career Day is open to all Atmos members; all EES students (whether you are a member of Atmos or not); and to all EES staff. Enrollment is done via this page. Non-Atmos members can enroll via this page as well.

One-on-one sessions with company representatives

There will be a possibility for one-on-one sessions with the representatives of the companies. These will be held in parallel to the plenary presentations so that the time can be used as efficiently as possible. Use the link at the top of this page to book a meeting; a short description of the representatives is given in the second sheet so that you can decide who you want to meet. You can book the meetings using this sheet until the start of the event, and during the event you can send a representative a private message (in the platform) to book a meeting.

CV check

Brunel, who are experts in filling vacancies at companies and the job market in general, will perform CV checks for the students who are interested. In order to have a meaningful discussion and to get some useful feedback, Brunel would like to receive your CV beforehand. If you want to make use of this excellent opportunity to check your CV, please send an email with your CV attached to external@atmosgroningen.nl by Sunday May 23 at 23.59 at the latest. If you have a preference for which company's plenary presentation you'll miss for the CV check, please mention that as well (we cannot ensure to honour everyone's preference). We will take great care to ensure your privacy when handling the CVs; they will only be made available to the representatives of Brunel and will not be stored by Atmos itself. If you wish to make your CV anonymous, you are free to do so.

The schedule for the CV checks will be made and shared on this page shortly beforehand. Multiple representatives of Brunel will be present, so we hope (and expect) that all students who wish to participate in this CV check will have a chance to do so. If, due to overwhelming interest, this is unfortunately not possible, we will fill the schedule by random selection.

Career event and Colloquium point

For 1st year EES students this event counts for a career point on your list of career activities, for 2nd year and older-students you may count this event as 'other' event on your list of attended colloquia!
